I live most of the time in Lviv with my wife Ustyna and our children, the city where they were born and which offers a high quality of life despite the war. Since 2022, with the outbreak of war, I have devoted my efforts to promoting and protecting cultural heritage and providing humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian community. I am one of the promoters of the solidarity initiative Save Ukraine Art 22, which was launched in the early months of the large-scale invasion, thanks mainly to Lucio Gomiero, entrepreneur and university professor, to protect museum collections threatened by the conflict. Through an international network, we brought essential technical materials for the packaging and conservation of works of art to Lviv. I collaborate with Viktoria Creativna Fabrika, documenting renovation projects of historic sites and cultural initiatives, some supported by UNESCO, such as the first cultural hub in Lviv, a symbol of hope and resistance. Together with my wife, we founded the Bohdan Soroka Charity Fund to support solidarity projects in Ukraine, focusing on Ukrainian art and culture.

This flag was given to us by soldiers from Zhytomyr.

When the large-scale Russian invasion began, I reported on the situation.

Take a look at my book.

The first few months of the invasion have been turned into a book by Rizzoli Publishing House. In the book, I have attempted to recount in simple terms the exodus from Ukraine to bring my children to safety and the effort involved in finding materials to secure the works of art.

Would you like to participate in development or solidarity projects in Ukraine? We have various volunteer and commercial projects to work on. We are looking for partners.

Whether it is promoting initiatives to protect artistic heritage or supporting solidarity and cultural cooperation programmes, I am happy to offer my experience and networks to facilitate partnerships between Italian and Ukrainian organisations in the cultural, social and artistic fields.

I can help develop and manage joint projects with a practical approach that respects the specific characteristics of both countries.
